Kat Chua, Artist

My works, classified as Contemporary/Post-Modern, are figurative paintings featuring areas of bright color, in combination with photography, and the use of line and overlapping planes, which make them resemble collages. As of late, I have incorporated the use of needle and thread unto the canvas. Allusions to politics, art, literature and identity are recurring subjects in my work. Lastly, my works are inspired by artists such as R.B. Kitaj, Frida Kahlo, and China Marks.
